The mask-like face, with its long straight nose and almond eyes, gives the figure a calm, monumental presence.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMochalov was born in Kirov (Vyatka), Russia, graduated from the Kirov Art School in 1972 and has been a member of the Union of Artists of Russia since 1996. He was named Honored Artist of the Russian Federation in 2011. His paintings are held by the Vyatka Art Museum and the Pavlodar Art Museum, and in 2019 one of his works was shown in the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts in London.
