An original enamel-on-metal painting by Paris-born artist Daphne Keskinis, known for luminous enamel paintings of women, still lifes and street scenes. A red-haired woman sits in a cushioned armchair with her robe slipped from her shoulders, quietly holding a teacup. Behind her, a sunny window and red flowers; in front, green apples on a lace-covered table. An intimate, softly glowing interior with an Impressionist feel.
Vitreous enamel fused onto metal gives the surface a jewel-like texture, with layered blues, pinks and violets that catch the light. Signed lower right “Keskinis”; the artist’s name is handwritten on the reverse, along with framer’s labels. Presented in a wide gold leaf frame with a gilt liner, with hanging wire attached.
Perfect for collectors of 20th-century figurative art and enamel art, and for anyone who loves small, jewel-like paintings for a bedroom, reading nook or gallery wall.
